With over 20 years in the healthcare lending field, Mr. Maziek rejoined the Oxford team in 2015 and is responsible for managing the company’s healthcare services business. After establishing Oxford’s healthcare lending practice from 2010 to 2012, Mr. Maziek was the Senior Managing Director and Head of Healthcare Finance at Wells Fargo Capital Finance. Previously, Mr. Maziek served in various capacities in the healthcare corporate lending division at Siemens Financial Services. He began his healthcare financing career with FINOVA Capital in 1994. Throughout his career, he has focused exclusively on lending to middle market healthcare companies. Mr. Maziek has had numerous articles published in healthcare industry journals and is a frequent guest speaker at industry conferences and events. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Arizona.

Peter Dahms

Mr. Dahms joined Oxford in 2017 with over 17 years of credit and leverage finance experience.  He is responsible for leading Oxford’s syndications and capital markets activities, and assisting the healthcare services team’s origination activities.  Prior to joining Oxford, Mr. Dahms spent 12 years at American Capital in a capital markets role focused on middle market and lower middle market opportunities during which time he arranged approximately $7 billion of total credit facilities.  He previously held similar roles with ABN AMRO, Scotia Capital and J.P. Morgan Chase.  Mr. Dahms earned a B.A. from Lehigh University and was inducted into the Omicron Delta Epsilon International Economics Honors Society.

Mr. Brown has nearly 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, with a primary focus on financial advisory and valuation services. He is responsible for originating real estate and related loan facilities to healthcare services companies in the Western United States. Prior to joining Oxford in 2016, Mr. Brown held a position at Creative Health Capital, working with healthcare providers, facilities, and service companies to build their businesses and provide strategic financial solutions. He also worked for Wellspring Valuation Limited and CBIZ Valuation Group, specializing in seniors housing and healthcare systems. Mr. Brown earned a B.A. from McMaster University.

Mrs. Thornett has over 10 years of experience in the finance industry, with a primary focus on commercial lending to early-stage and middle market healthcare organizations. She is responsible for originating new loan facilities to East Coast healthcare services companies across numerous sectors. Before joining Oxford, Mrs. Thornett was with GE Capital in its Healthcare Financial Services Group and its Commercial Finance division sourcing and structuring asset based and senior debt transactions. She also held positions with Evolution1 and The Hartford Financial Services Group. She received a B.S. in Finance and an M.B.A from the University of Connecticut.

Executive Director, Healthcare Credit & Underwriting

Mr. Bernier has over 10 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Prior to rejoining the Oxford team in 2015, Mr. Bernier was Senior Vice President and Regional Underwriting Manager for the Healthcare Finance division of Wells Fargo Capital Finance. Previously, he was an early contributor to Oxford’s healthcare services lending practice from 2010 to 2013, and held various positions at Saints Capital, where he was responsible for investing, sourcing, structuring and managing transactions. He began his career at Deutsche Bank in the investment banking division.  Mr. Bernier is a CFA® charterholder and earned a B.S. in Finance from Georgetown University.

Executive Director, Healthcare Portfolio Management
Mr. Somerset has over 17 years of healthcare lending experience. Before joining Oxford, he spent seven years with CapitalSource, Inc. originating, underwriting and managing complex debt financings for a diverse portfolio of healthcare companies, including acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation hospitals, healthcare service providers and healthcare real estate owners. He also held various underwriting and portfolio management positions with GE Capital in its Healthcare Financial Services Group and its predecessor company, Heller Financial. Mr. Somerset received a B.S. in Business Administration from Bucknell University and an M.B.A from Wake Forest University.
